Horizontal Narrow Web Inline Flexo Printing Machine – RK FM-Nice-P 320 / 8 Colour

A narrow web inline flexo printing machine prints labels and narrow packaging webs (up to around 670 mm) with printing units arranged horizontally in sequence. Each unit prints one colour, the web is dried between units, and the finishing – die cutting, sheeting, full cutting – happens inline at the delivery end.

The RK FM-Nice-P 320 is the hot-air-dried, mechanically driven member of the FM-Nice-P family. It uses ceramic anilox rollers with an individual motorized anilox system on every unit, one-time pressure setting per job and quick change printing cylinders, so the day-to-day workflow matches RK's servo presses while the investment stays lower.

Eight Colour Printing Units

Eight stations cover four-colour process artwork plus spot colours, white and varnish in one pass. The platform is available from 2 to 12 colours.

Hot Air Dryer on All Units, One UV Dryer With Upgrade Facility

Every printing unit has a hot air dryer for water-based and solvent-based inks. One UV dryer unit is fitted as standard – typically used for the last colour or varnish – and the machine has the facility to upgrade to all UV drying later, so a printer can start on hot air and move to UV inks as the job mix changes.

Three Rotary Die-Cutting Units With Conveyor

The first rotary unit cuts the label shape, the second sheet-cuts, and the third full-cuts with a conveyor belt system to carry the cut pieces out. Labels, sheets and fully cut pieces can all be produced on the same line.

Ultrasonic Web Guide and Load-Cell Tension Control

The unwinding unit uses an imported ultrasonic electronic web guide with a splicing table and paper holder, and an auto electronic tension controller (powder brake) with load cell feedback. The rewinding unit has an auto electronic tension controller (powder clutch) with load cell feedback. The web stays centred and at a steady tension from unwind to rewind.

Individual Motorized Anilox and 360° Unit Regulation

Each printing unit has its own motorized anilox roll system and adopts 360° regulation, so each colour is set up on its own.

One-Time Pressure Setting and Quick Cylinder Change

Impression pressure is set once per job and printing cylinders change quickly, which keeps changeover short between label jobs.

Fully Touch Screen Control

The whole line is set up and monitored from the touch screen.

The roll is loaded on the unwinding unit with the pneumatic loading system. The ultrasonic web guide keeps the web centred and the powder brake tension controller with load cell feedback holds it at a steady tension.

The web then runs through the eight printing units in a straight line. At each unit a ceramic anilox roller meters ink onto the plate, the plate prints the image, and the web passes through that unit's hot air dryer (or the UV dryer where fitted) before entering the next colour, and the chilled impression drum keeps the web stable between colours. Any optional units – turn bar, cold foil, lamination, delam-relam – are placed in the path where the job needs them.

After the last colour the web enters the three rotary die-cutting units: die cutting first, then sheet cutting, then full cutting with the conveyor belt carrying the cut pieces out. Roll output winds on the rewinding unit under its own tension control. The operator runs the whole line from the touch screen.
