Shrink Sleeve Machine

RK PSG 650 PVC shrink sleeve glueing machine with peristaltic adhesive pump and cantilever rewind

RK PSG 650 PVC Shrink Sleeve Glueing Machine

01 — Overview

The RK PSG 650 takes a printed roll of PVC shrink film, folds it into a tube, runs a line of adhesive down the overlap and seals the seam. What comes off the rewind is a continuous flattened sleeve, ready for the cutting machine and then the shrink tunnel. Film width goes to 650 mm and the machine runs at up to 120 metres a minute.

A peristaltic pump driven by a stepper motor dispenses the adhesive, so the flow rate tracks line speed anywhere from 1 to 120 m/min. Change the speed and the dose changes with it. The fluid touches nothing but the inside of a replaceable rubber tube, which keeps cleaning down to a tube swap and stops solvent from attacking pump internals.

The unwind takes rolls to ø600 mm on a 3 inch multi-bladder air shaft, with an imported ultrasonic edge scanner guiding the web and a powder brake working against a load cell to hold tension as the roll diameter drops. Rewinding runs on a cantilever shaft with an independent torque motor, so one operator slides the finished ø700 mm roll off the end without a crane.

RK Label Printing Machinery Pvt. Ltd. has built label and packaging converting machines in Ahmedabad, Gujarat since 1994 and exports to 24+ countries including the USA, UAE, Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia and South Africa.

04 — FAQ

It folds printed shrink film into a tube and seals the overlap, turning flat printed film into a continuous sleeve. The sleeve is then cut to length and shrunk onto the pack.

Up to 120 metres a minute, on film widths up to 650 mm.

The PSG glues and seams the sleeve. The PSC cuts the seamed web into individual sleeves. A shrink sleeve line normally runs both, PSG first and PSC second.

Beverage bottling, pharmaceutical tamper-evident caps, food packaging, personal care, and any brand running full-body or wrap-around shrink sleeves.
