Hot Foil Stamping and Label Die Cutting Machine – RK-HSD 3030 Double Head

The RK-HSD 3030 is a roll-to-roll flatbed machine with two heads: a hot foil stamping head followed by a die cutting head. The web moves intermittently under Schneider servo control, stops for the stamp and cut, then advances. Maximum paper width is 320 mm.

On the stamping side, heated foil is pressed onto the label in a 300 mm x 300 mm area. The across foil winding is driven by a servo, so the foil advances only as far as the stamped image needs, which is what "cross foil saving" means. On the die cutting side, the label shape is cut in a 300 mm by 400 mm area, with a re-pass scanner for pre-printed rolls and a mechanical clutch waste matrix rewinder. Delivery is as rolls on the auto rewinding unit or as sheets from the online sheet cutting unit.

Servo Controlled Cross Foil Saving

Foil is the running cost of stamping. The RK-HSD 3030 winds foil across the web by a servo motor (Schneider), advancing exactly the width the image needs. Small foil elements on a large label no longer consume a full foil width per stroke.

300 mm x 300 mm Stamping Area

The stamping head covers 300 mm x 300 mm, large enough for full label foil designs or several smaller labels stamped together.

Die Cutting Head in the Same Pass

The die cutting unit covers 300 mm width by 400 mm repeat length. Stamped labels are cut to shape on the next stroke, with paper pulling under electronic servo motor control (Schneider) for exact feed.

Re-Pass Scanner and Plain/Printed Modes

A re-pass scanner system with sliding assembly reads the print mark so stamping and die cutting are in register with pre-printed artwork. A separate module on the 7" HMI selects plain or printed label mode.

Ultrasonic Web Guide on Unwinding

The auto unwinding unit, with 3" air shaft, 600 mm maximum roll diameter and mechanical brake, includes an imported ultrasonic electronic web guide. Straight web entry is what keeps foil and die aligned stroke after stroke.

Online Waste Matrix Rewinding and Sheet Cutting

The waste matrix is stripped and rewound online through a mechanical clutch system. An online sheet cutting unit delivers sheets when the job calls for them.

Rewinding With Dancer Roller Feedback

The auto rewinding unit's tension is controlled by a mechanical clutch, with a dancer roller mechanism and analog output sensor feedback for an even rewound roll.

Schneider Drive Package

The 3 HP three phase main motor runs on a Schneider variable frequency drive; 1 HP AC motors handle unwinding side unloading and rewinding (with Schneider VFD). The full touch 7" HMI is also Schneider.

The label roll goes on the auto unwinding unit and the ultrasonic web guide aligns the web as it enters. The servo feed advances the web the set length and stops. The heated stamping head presses the foil onto the label in the 300 mm x 300 mm area, and the servo across winding moves the foil only by the image width before the next stroke. If the roll is pre-printed, the re-pass scanner has already positioned the web so the foil lands on the printed artwork.

On the next advance the stamped section reaches the die cutting head, where the label shape is cut within 300 mm x 400 mm. The waste matrix is lifted away and rewound online. Finished labels then either go to the online sheet cutting unit for sheeted delivery or on to the auto rewinding unit, where the dancer roller and clutch hold the tension so the roll winds evenly to full diameter.

The RK-HSD 3030 stamps and die cuts self-adhesive label stock and similar roll materials up to 320 mm wide, using hot stamping foils, including metallic, pigment and hologram foils of the kind used on labels.
