FMS-Nice-P-320 6 Colour Flexo Printing Machine With All UV Dryer

The FMS-Nice-P-320-6 is a rotary flexographic label press with six servo-driven printing stations. Unlike a gear-driven press, where one motor turns every unit through a mechanical train, each station on this machine has its own motor controlled from a central touch screen. Colour-to-colour registration is corrected electronically, and the operator sets each unit from one place.

The "all UV dryer" in the name means each station has a UV lamp for curing UV inks, and each station also carries a hot air dryer for water-based inks. The 6 colour configuration is the version published on this page; the same FMS-Nice-P platform is available from 2 to 12 colours and in 320, 450, 550 and 670 mm web widths (model numbers 320/450/550/670).

Six Servo-Driven Printing Units

Six stations cover CMYK plus two spot colours, or a mix of spot colours, white and varnish. Because every station is servo driven, registration stays tight on long runs and the operator can adjust one unit without disturbing the others.

All UV Dryer With Hot Air Dryer

UV inks cure instantly under the lamps; water-based and solvent-based inks dry under hot air. Both systems are fitted on every unit, so the press runs film on UV inks and paper on hot air without any change to the drying setup.

Automatic Plate Registration

The registration system brings plates into position electronically at the start of the job. Setup waste drops, and job changeover gets faster – a real saving for printers running several short jobs a day.

Chiller Drum System

Thin films distort under dryer heat. The chiller drum cools the web after drying and helps the machine hold registration on materials as thin as 12 micron.

Ultrasonic Web Guide and Tension Control

The unwinding unit uses an imported ultrasonic electronic web guide and an auto electronic tension controller (powder brake) with load cell feedback. The rewinding unit has an auto tension controller with powder clutch. The web stays centred and at a constant tension from unwind to rewind.

Online Rotary Die Cutting With Waste Matrix Rewinding

The die-cutting unit cuts the label shape inline, and the waste matrix (the skeleton left after cutting) winds onto its own shaft. What comes off the rewinder is a finished label roll, ready for the customer.

Quick Job Change

Quick change printing cylinders, one-time pressure setting per job, and an individual motorized anilox roll system on each unit shorten the time between jobs.

The roll is loaded on the unwinding unit with the pneumatic loading system and passes through the web guide and tension controller. It then moves through the six printing stations one after another. At each station a ceramic anilox roller meters ink onto the plate, the plate prints the image, and the web passes under the UV lamp or through the hot air dryer before the next colour. The chiller drum cools the web where the material needs it.

After the sixth colour, the web goes through any optional units – turn bar, cold foil, lamination or delam-relam – and into the online rotary die-cutting unit. The label shape is cut, the waste matrix is stripped and rewound, and the finished label roll winds on the rewinding unit under its own tension control. Everything is set and monitored from the touch screen.
