RK-3040-S Flatbed Die Cutting Machine With Sheet Cutting

The RK-3040-S is a roll-fed flatbed die cutting machine. The web is pulled forward by a Schneider servo motor in exact steps, stops, and a flat die presses down to cut the label shape in the 300 mm x 380 mm area. The waste matrix is stripped and rewound online. The cut labels then either continue to the auto rewinding unit as a roll or pass through the online sheet cutting unit and come out as sheets.

Unwinding and rewinding both use 3" air shafts and accept rolls up to 600 mm diameter. An imported ultrasonic electronic web guide aligns the web on the unwinding side, a re-pass scanner with sliding assembly handles pre-printed material, and a touch screen module switches between plain and printed label modes. The 3 HP main motor runs on a Schneider variable frequency drive; total power consumption is 6 HP three phase.

Online Sheet Cutting Unit

The sheet cutting unit is built into the line. Die cut labels are cut into sheets at the set length and stacked, with no separate roll to sheet cutting machine and no second pass.

High Speed Servo Feed

Paper pulling is under electronic servo motor control (Schneider). The web advances the exact same length on every stroke, which is what allows 12,000 to 18,000 strokes per hour on plain labels.

300 mm x 380 mm Die Cutting Area

The die cutting unit covers 300 mm width and 380 mm repeat length on a web up to 320 mm wide, taking single large labels or multiple small labels across and along the web.

Re-Pass Scanner for Printed Labels

A re-pass scanner system with sliding assembly reads the print mark on pre-printed rolls so the die cut follows the artwork. A separate module on the HMI selects plain or printed mode.

Ultrasonic Web Guide

The auto unwinding unit carries an imported ultrasonic electronic web guide. The web enters the die straight, which keeps side registration constant across the roll.

Online Waste Matrix Rewinding

The waste matrix is stripped after die cutting and rewound online on a mechanical clutch unit, keeping the labels clean and the operator's hands free.

Dancer Roller Tension Control

The rewinding unit's tension is controlled by a mechanical clutch with a dancer roller mechanism and analog output sensor feedback, so rolls wind evenly to 600 mm diameter.

Schneider Drives and 7" Touch HMI

The 3 HP three phase main motor runs on a Schneider variable frequency drive, with 1 HP AC motors for unwinding side unloading and rewinding (with Schneider VFD). All settings are made on a full touch 7" Schneider HMI.

The label roll is loaded on the auto unwinding unit's 3" air shaft, and the ultrasonic web guide aligns the web as it feeds in. The servo pulls the web the set length and stops. The flat die presses down and cuts the label shape within the 300 mm x 380 mm area. For pre-printed rolls the re-pass scanner reads the mark before each stroke and adjusts the position so the cut matches the print.

After cutting, the waste matrix is lifted and rewound online by the mechanical clutch unit. If the job is for rolls, the labels continue to the auto rewinding unit, where the dancer roller and clutch hold tension for an even wind. If the job is for sheets, the labels pass through the online sheet cutting unit, which cuts across the web at the set length and delivers stacked sheets. Switching between the two is a matter of routing the web and setting the HMI.
