RK MCC Manual Core Cutting Machine – Paper Core Cutter for Variable Sizes
01 — Overview
Manual Core Cutting Machine Manufacturer in India
Not every converter cuts hundreds of cores a day. A label printer with one slitter, a small POS roll unit or a packaging plant that rewinds a few rolls a week still needs cores cut to width, but a fully automatic machine would sit idle most of the time. For that workload, a motorised manual core cutter is the practical answer.
The RK MCC is a manual paper core cutting machine for variable size cores. A 1 HP three-phase main motor rotates the core, the operator brings a rotary blade into it to make the cut, and attachments for 1 inch, 1.5 inch and 3 inch cores are included. The whole machine measures about 3 ft long, 1.5 ft wide and 3.5 ft high. RK Label Printing Machinery Pvt. Ltd. manufactures it in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
This page explains what the RK MCC does, what it includes, which plants it suits and when it makes sense to move up to the pneumatic or servo core cutters in the RK range.

03 — What Is It
What Is the RK MCC Manual Core Cutting Machine?
The RK MCC is the entry level of RK's three core cutting machines. The core rotates on a motor driven shaft and the operator controls the cut with a rotary blade. "Manual" refers to the cutting action, not to turning the core by hand; the 1 HP three-phase motor does the rotating, so the operator only guides the blade.
The machine is made for variable size core cutting, which means the operator can cut any width along the core rather than being limited to fixed positions. The blade position is adjusted manually for each cut. Core cutting attachments for 1 inch, 1.5 inch and 3 inch let the same machine handle the cores used for label rolls, thermal paper rolls and tape rolls.
04 — Key Features
Key Features of the RK MCC Core Cutter
Variable Size Core Cutting
The operator sets the cut position for each core, so odd widths and one-off sizes are as easy to produce as regular ones. This flexibility is the main reason small converters choose a manual cutter.
Rotary Blade Cutting
The cut is made with a rotary blade against the motor driven core. A rotary blade gives a clean, square edge on paper cores without crushing the wall.
1 inch, 1.5 inch and 3 inch Attachments
Attachments for the three standard core diameters are included, so the machine covers label, thermal paper and tape cores without extra tooling.
1 HP Three-Phase Main Motor
A 1 HP three-phase motor rotates the core at a steady speed while the operator cuts. Power requirement and consumption are both 1 HP three-phase.
Compact Frame
At 3 ft long, 1.5 ft wide and 3.5 ft high, the RK MCC takes very little floor space and can stand next to a slitter or rewinder.
Simple to Operate and Maintain
There are no pneumatics or electronics to set up. Loading a core, cutting it and removing the pieces can be taught to a new operator in minutes, and blade replacement is straightforward.
05 — How It Works
How Does the Manual Core Cutting Machine Work?
The operator fits the attachment for the core diameter in use, 1, 1.5 or 3 inch, slides the parent core on to the shaft and switches on the motor. The core turns at a constant speed driven by the 1 HP three-phase motor.
To make a cut, the operator positions the rotary blade at the required width and brings it into the rotating core until it cuts through the wall. The blade is withdrawn, moved to the next position and the next cut is made, until the parent core has been divided into the pieces needed. The operator removes the cut cores, loads the next parent core and continues. Every width is decided by the operator, which is what makes the machine suitable for varied, low volume work.
06 — Applications
Applications of the RK MCC Core Cutter
- Small label converters – cutting cores for one or two slitters without tying up an operator all day.
- POS and thermal roll units – 1 inch and 1.5 inch cores for small daily quantities.
- Tape converters – 3 inch cores for BOPP and other tape rolls in modest volumes.
- Packaging and rewinding plants – in-house core cutting for occasional rewinding jobs.
- Job work and sample rooms – one-off core sizes for trials and sample rolls.
07 — Materials
What Materials Can It Handle?
The RK MCC cuts paper cores in 1 inch, 1.5 inch and 3 inch inside diameters, the standard sizes for label stock, thermal paper, tape and film rolls. For other diameters or unusually thick core walls, send RK a sample so the attachment and blade can be checked before the machine is offered.
09 — Why RK
Why Choose RK Label Machines?
RK Label Printing Machinery Pvt. Ltd. has manufactured label printing and converting machinery in Ahmedabad, Gujarat since 1995, across three manufacturing units, for customers in 23+ countries. The core cutting range is offered at three levels, manual, pneumatic automatic and servo, so a buyer pays for the automation their volume justifies and nothing more. Because RK also builds the slitters and rewinders those cores go on, the core sizes are already matched to the rest of the line.
10 — Selection Guide
How to Select the Right Core Cutting Machine
- Daily core count: a handful of cores a day suits the RK MCC; a continuous flow is better served by the PCC or the servo machine.
- Width variety: if you cut many different, changing widths, the manual cutter's variable sizing is an advantage.
- Core sizes: confirm that 1, 1.5 and 3 inch cover your requirement.
- Operator time: the manual machine needs the operator at the blade for each cut; the automatic machines run the cycle on their own.
- Floor space: the RK MCC is the smallest of the three and fits almost anywhere.
- Power: a 1 HP three-phase supply is all that is needed; there is no compressed air requirement.
11 — Price
Manual Core Cutting Machine Price in India
The price of the RK MCC depends on the attachments and any configuration you require. RK quotes ex-works Ahmedabad with GST at 18% applicable. Engineer travel and stay for installation and training at your site are borne by the customer. Tell RK your core sizes and how many cores you cut in a typical day, and the team will confirm whether the manual machine or one of the automatic core cutters is the right fit and quote accordingly.

13 — FAQ
A core cutter in which the core is rotated by a motor and the operator brings a rotary blade into it to make each cut at the required width.
1 inch, 1.5 inch and 3 inch, with the attachment for each size included.
No. A 1 HP three-phase main motor rotates the core; the operator only controls the blade.
Yes. It is built for variable size core cutting, so the operator sets each cut position as needed.
1 HP three-phase. No compressed air is required.
About 3 ft long, 1.5 ft wide and 3.5 ft high.
That depends on the operator and the widths cut. It suits small and medium daily quantities; for continuous core cutting, RK recommends the pneumatic PCC or the servo core cutting machine.
Yes. Thermal paper and POS rolls typically use 1 inch or 1.5 inch cores, both of which the RK MCC cuts.
The MCC is a manual rotary blade cutter on a 1 HP three-phase motor. The PCC is a pneumatic automatic machine with spacer set blades, digital timer, bottom support and auto unloading on a 2 HP three-phase supply.
