Servo Core Cutting Machine – Fully Servo Controlled Digital Auto Paper Core Cutter
01 — Overview
Servo Core Cutting Machine Manufacturer in India
A paper core is the cheapest part of a finished roll, yet a core cut a few millimetres too wide or too narrow can get the whole roll rejected. Converters who ship many roll widths every day need core cutting to be as repeatable as the slitting itself. That is where a servo controlled paper core cutting machine earns its place next to the slitter.
The RK Servo Core Cutting Machine is a fully servo controlled, digital auto core cutting machine for 1 inch, 1.5 inch and 3 inch cores. The cutting action is pneumatic, and a 1 HP single-phase motor with digital timer auto control drives the cycle. The core shaft is 500 mm long with a 450 mm working length. RK Label Printing Machinery Pvt. Ltd. manufactures it in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
This page sets out what "fully servo control" means for core cutting, what the machine includes, who uses it and how it compares with the pneumatic RK PCC and the manual RK MCC.

03 — What Is It
What Is the RK Servo Core Cutting Machine?
It is an automatic paper core cutter in which the cutting cycle is under servo and digital control rather than the operator's hands. A full length core is loaded on the 500 mm shaft. The cut widths are set on the operator HMI and the machine adjusts to them automatically, with no spacers and no manual setting. The digital timer auto control then runs the cycle for the set duration and stops. The cut itself is performed pneumatically.
Because the control is digital and the motion is servo based, the machine gives the same result cycle after cycle, regardless of who is operating it. It handles the three standard core diameters used in label, tape and paper converting, 1, 1.5 and 3 inch, and runs on an ordinary single-phase supply, which makes it easy to place anywhere in the plant.
04 — Key Features
Key Features of the RK Servo Core Cutting Machine
Fully Servo Control With Digital Auto Cycle
The cutting cycle is servo controlled and started, timed and stopped digitally. The operator loads the core and starts the cycle; the machine does the rest.
Pneumatic Cutting Action
The blades are brought into the core pneumatically, so the cutting force and depth are consistent and the operator does not apply any physical effort to the cut.
Core Cutting Attachment
The cutting attachment is supplied to suit the cores you cut, so the machine arrives set up for the core sizes you actually cut rather than a generic set.
1 inch, 1.5 inch and 3 inch Core Sizes
The three core diameters used across label rolls, thermal paper rolls and tape rolls are all covered on the same machine.
500 mm Core Shaft With 450 mm Working Length
Standard parent cores fit on the shaft, and up to 450 mm of that length is cut in one cycle, giving several finished cores per loading.
1 HP Single-Phase Motor With Digital Timer
The machine runs on a 1 HP single-phase motor controlled by a digital timer with auto control. Single-phase supply means no special wiring is needed at the installation point.
Compact Footprint
At about 4.7 ft long, 2.5 ft wide and 4 ft high, the machine fits beside a slitter or rewinder without taking production floor space.
05 — How It Works
How Does the Servo Core Cutting Machine Work?
The widths are set on the operator HMI and the machine adjusts to them automatically, and the cutting duration is entered on the digital timer. The operator slides a parent core, up to 450 mm of working length, on to the core shaft and starts the cycle. From that point the machine is in control: the servo drive rotates the core, the pneumatic system brings the blades into the core and the cut proceeds for the timed duration.
When the timer completes, the blades withdraw and the cycle stops automatically. The operator removes the cut cores, loads the next parent core and starts again. Because the widths are adjusted automatically and the cycle is digitally timed, every core leaves the machine at the same size, and a new operator can be trained on the machine in a short time.
06 — Applications
Applications of the RK Servo Core Cutting Machine
- Label converters – cores for slit self-adhesive label rolls in many widths per day.
- Thermal paper and POS roll producers – 1 inch and 1.5 inch cores in high daily volumes.
- Tape manufacturers – 3 inch and smaller cores for BOPP and other tape rolls.
- Paper and film slitting units – core preparation for every slit width without measuring and hand cutting.
- Packaging plants – in-house cores for rewinding lines, cut to size on demand.
07 — Materials
What Materials Can It Handle?
The machine is built for paper cores of 1 inch, 1.5 inch and 3 inch inside diameter, as used for label stock, thermal paper, tapes and film rolls. If you run a different core diameter or an unusually heavy wall, share the core sample with RK so the cutting attachment can be made to suit it.
09 — Why RK
Why Choose RK Label Machines?
RK Label Printing Machinery Pvt. Ltd. has been manufacturing label printing and converting machinery in Ahmedabad, Gujarat since 1995, with three manufacturing units and customers in 23+ countries. RK builds core cutters at three levels, manual, pneumatic automatic and servo, so a converter can choose by daily volume rather than buying more or less machine than needed. Every core cutter is made alongside RK's slitters and rewinders, so the cores match the rolls they will carry and one manufacturer supports the whole line.
10 — Selection Guide
How to Select the Right Core Cutting Machine
- Core diameters: confirm that 1, 1.5 and 3 inch cover everything you use.
- Parent core length: the shaft is 500 mm with a 450 mm working length.
- Daily core count: for an occasional core, the manual RK MCC is enough; for a steady flow across shifts, the servo machine gives repeatability with no operator effort.
- Width consistency: if every roll width must be exact, a servo controlled, digitally timed cycle is the safer choice.
- Power supply: this machine runs on 1 HP single-phase, useful where a three-phase point is not available nearby.
- Compressed air: the pneumatic cutting action needs an air supply at the machine.
11 — Price
Servo Core Cutting Machine Price in India
The price of the RK Servo Core Cutting Machine depends on the core cutting attachment supplied for your sizes and any other configuration you require. RK quotes ex-works Ahmedabad with GST at 18% applicable. Engineer travel and stay for installation and training at your site are borne by the customer. Send RK your core diameters, the widths you cut and your daily volume, and the team will confirm the right machine and quote for it.

13 — FAQ
A paper core cutter in which the cutting cycle is servo controlled and digitally timed. The operator loads the core and starts the cycle; the machine cuts and stops on its own.
1 inch, 1.5 inch and 3 inch paper cores.
The core shaft is 500 mm long with a 450 mm working length.
The cutting is pneumatic. The blades are brought into the rotating core by the pneumatic system for the duration set on the digital timer.
On the operator HMI. The machine adjusts the blade positions automatically, with no spacers and no manual setting.
A 1 HP single-phase motor, plus compressed air for the pneumatic cutting.
About 4.7 ft long, 2.5 ft wide and 4 ft high.
Both cut the same core sizes on a 500 mm shaft. The PCC uses three pneumatic cylinders with rotary blades set by spacers and runs on 2 HP three-phase; the servo machine has fully servo control with digital auto cycle and runs on 1 HP single-phase.
Yes. Loading a core and starting the cycle takes little time, and the machine completes the cut on its own while the operator attends to the slitter.
