RK PS-320 Rotary Die Cutting Machine With Up & Down Rewinding

The RK PS-320 is a roll to roll rotary die cutting machine with online slitting. In rotary die cutting, the cutting blade sits on a cylinder – usually a flexible die wrapped around a magnetic cylinder – that rotates against a hard anvil roller. The web runs between them without stopping, and the die cuts the label shape through the face stock on every revolution while the release liner stays intact. This continuous action is what allows 120 m/min running speed.

The up and down rewinding unit places two rewinding shafts one above the other. Alternate slit lanes are wound on the upper and lower shafts, which keeps neighbouring rolls apart so the edges wind cleanly. Forward and reverse winding is selected by button, and the shafts take 1", 1.5" and 3" cores with automatic speed synchronising between them.

Single Rotary Die Cutting Unit

The rotary die and the anvil sit in one single rotary die cutting unit. Cutting depth is set evenly across the 320 mm web, and die changes are quick for the operator.

Up and Down Rewinding to Ø300 mm

Two rewinding positions take alternate slit lanes so adjacent rolls do not interfere. Each finished roll can be built up to 300 mm diameter before changeover.

120 m/min Running Speed

Continuous rotary cutting lets the PS-320 run at up to 120 metres per minute, which suits medium and long runs of labels and stickers.

Online Slitting With Air Blower

An online slitting unit divides the die-cut web into lanes in the same pass, and an air blower removes edge trim so it cannot wrap into the rewinding rolls.

Ultrasonic Electronic Web Guide

An ultrasonic web guide on the unwinding side keeps the web tracking straight, including clear films and reflective face stocks where optical sensors are unreliable.

PLC Counter With Auto Stop

Label and meter counts are set on the touch HMI. The PLC stops the machine at the target, so every roll leaves with the same count or length.

Independent VFD Drives for Unwind and Rewind

A 2 HP unwinding motor and a 1 HP rewinding motor, each single phase with its own VFD, keep tension controlled at both ends of the web.

Online Waste Matrix Rewinding

The waste skeleton is stripped and wound continuously, so the operator does not stop to clear it and the finished lanes are clean.

A roll of up to Ø600 mm is mounted on the 3" air shaft of the unwinding unit. The 2 HP unwinding motor releases the web under VFD-controlled tension, and the ultrasonic web guide keeps the edge in line as the web approaches the die. Inside the single rotary die cutting unit, the rotary die turns against the anvil and cuts the label outline through the face stock on each revolution. The waste matrix is lifted from the liner and wound onto the online waste rewinding unit.

The die-cut web then passes through the online slitting unit, where knives divide it into lanes and the air blower clears the trim. Alternate lanes are led to the upper and lower rewinding shafts, which build rolls of up to Ø300 mm with automatic speed synchronising. When the PLC counter reaches the set label count or metre length, the machine stops, the operator removes the finished rolls, loads new cores and restarts.

The PS-320 is designed for self-adhesive label materials on a release liner up to 320 mm wide – chromo paper, thermal and thermal-transfer papers, and synthetic face stocks such as PP and PET.
